External expectations Doesn't Affect Me, Affirms Confident Postecoglou

Nottingham Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou insists that external scrutiny regarding his position will not impact his approach.

The team is without a victory in his initial half-dozen matches since the coach replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the club's stadium.

A group of Forest fans shouted, "you're getting sacked in the morning", towards the former Tottenham and Celtic boss following Thursday's 3-2 European loss at their ground to Midtjylland.

Postecoglou's Response to Criticism

Postecoglou, though, stated that the European title he won at Tottenham last season, before being dismissed in the off-season, was proof he does not let external factors to affect his coaching.

"I don't think about it," he added. "My responsibility involves making sure this football club advances and reaches a level where it can compete for things," stated Postecoglou.

"Should I begin setting deadlines to that or worry about what is occurring next week then I am not fulfilling the role I have been assigned.

"I just don't think it is helpful to anyone. At the end of the day, I have to concentrate on the atmosphere, the training, the way we play, and as I said last night, I am remain very, very strong in my conviction that we are close to success.

"Put it this way - I was aware I was being dismissed at Tottenham about 3-4 months before I was, but that didn't stop me from winning something."
